With the 2013 season start less than 2 weeks away and the first event taking place on January 12th.... will your team be ready? Here in lovely Southern California, relative newcomers to the Southern California paintball tournament scene, the Almost Famous Paintball League has released their first 2013 banner with dates still to be posted up soon. Widely known in SoCal as the guys that take those awesome photos at paintball tourneys, they continues to provide a steadily stream of media coverage for SoCal paintball events as Almost Famous Paintball. With the formation of their tournament series, these SoCal media extraordinaires formed the AFPL, a PSP-based tournament series based in Chula Vista CA at Total Combat Paintball Park and backed by Almost Famous Paintball, A.P.P.A, APX Paintballs, and Camp Pendleton Pantball Park. The AFPL is a d4/d5 race to three, tournament series that last throughout the year. The series also has tournaments for three and 5 man teams, as well as semi and pump tournaments.
Also included in the series are talented referees from the NPPL and PSP. A nice little kickback towards the teams is that each participating team gets pictures and video recordings from at least one match. Tournament spectators and players are also treated with announcers and loud music for everyone to enjoy during intermissions. In addition to the festivities, the 1st place winning team receives an impressive trophy, not to mention $1500. What more can you ask for from a tournament series? With the 2013 season just around the corner, it's certain that the AFPL has the ingredients to start of the new year with a bang.
