The Naughty Dogs, headed by team captain Rocky Knuth, have long been one of the most consistent teams in paintball, having been great ambassadors both on and off the field. Unfortunately, rumors have surfaced that the team may not continue their long run throughout 2011. ProPaintball.com
is reporting that the team may in fact take the 2011 season off, due largely to the possibly that both Rocky and Raymond Knuth will be departing from the team for different reasons, with Raymond returning to school and Rocky in the process of opening a gym.
Additionally, Pro Paintball also states that long time Naughty Dogs superstar Corey Field may also not be returning for another year with the team, though he may become a free agent and find his way on to another roster.
If the rumors turn out to be true, the Naughty Dogs would be the first US team to bow out of the 2011 tournament season, following a long list of European squads that announced retirement a few months ago, including Joy Division.
Fast forward to 2011, and the future of the Dogs is in great
jeopardy. Raymond and Rocky Knuth are said to be taking the 2011 season
off; Raymond is going back to school and Rocky is opening a gym. With
that being said, word on the street has it that Corey Field has parted
ways with the team and is now a free agent. Corey was a major force both
on and off the field for the Naughty Dogs in 2010 and his departure
will be hard felt. Without Corey, Rocky, or Raymond, the future of the
Dogs is questionable at best. Stay tuned..
