Product Review: Hybrid Technologies Suicide Shells
review by Daniel Tyler
|HT Suicide Shell|
Sometimes it requires people to “think outside the box” to come up with simple solutions to make life easier. Any of you that have owned or currently own a Halo B/Reloader B all know about one of the pains that come with owning one of these loaders. It is a pain in the rear to take apart the loader to clean it out after having paint uncharacteristically explode in the loader after a bad dive.
|Easy push pin to replace lid|
I have often (actually quite often) landed wrong or had for some unforsaken reason had paint just all of a sudden blow up in my Halo/Reloader. It is a pain in the butt to take that messed up gooey filled loader and try to clean it at the end of the day. This isn’t so bad after practice or a day of play, but man it is a bad thing at an event where the gear needs to be back up and usable for the next game or point.

have come to save the day! The people that introduced the industry’s most stylish grips have come out with the best Halo/Reloader shell ever. The Hybrid Suicide Shell opens up into three parts (four if you count the battery cover). The ingenious part is the top of the shell is one piece that lifts straight up upon the removal of three screws. The loader lid is a part of the upper shell. Break the lid, no problem, you no longer have to take the Halo/Reloader apart to replace the lid. The lid pin can be tapped out and lid replacement is a piece of cake. To aide in speed of getting the loader back up ASAP, the lid spring is inside the hinge to prevent the bungling that usually happens with the current shells.

The Hybrid “HT” logo is laser engraved on each side of the body and underneath near the Rip Drive hole. The Hybrid Suicide Shell is $20 more than shell replacements that only offer a different color, but the luxury of not having to take the whole loader apart to clean and maintain is a huge plus. The Suicide Shell is only available in black, but I’m sure that colors will follow later on in the year.
