Review: Greg Hastings Tournament Paintball Max’d
review by Colin Moats

Greg Hastings Max’d is a fantastic simulation of how paintball really is. It explores the aspects for the quality of gear, along with the quality of a player. You will play through the ranks of a new Woodsball player all the way to becoming a professional paintball player.

Entering the game was easy to figure out and navigation was a breeze. It took about an hour to really figure out the controls and get my player moving the way I wanted him to. The game really progressed as you go along in the game; your opponents become better, making the game more challenging. Playing with a friend on co/op, we got to rookie level and were blasting opponents off the field. It was fun being able to go to different tournament styles, playing 3 man, 5 man, and even 7 man. Making my team plans, improving the marker skills of my player, and buying the new hottest gear.

I enjoyed all of the different fields that were played on. I believe there are 188 different bunker setups that are programmed into the game. The effects are great; the graphics, sound, and other characters that I knew. It was realistic, like I was really a player going against the top teams. I like how the cheat meter allowed me to determine a bounce, wipe, 1 for 1, and more. Nothing ever got old, and I always progressed.

We used Max’d as a tool, we used our players and worked on the skills that we use in the real world. When we would be down to 2 players left we would have to figure out what the best cross up would be. We would have 3 on 1 drills, and bunkering drills, the fundamental things of, “what would you do in this situation?” being a baller, and trained by the best, I could really utilize this game to the potential that I could have on me as a player, or someone who wants to improve their own game as a player.

I was impressed with the game. In the future I would like to see more options as far as gun mods, player ability, and player options. I would have liked to buy more gear that increased the performance of my player. The sponsorships in the game are great. I think it would be great if you could increase the quality of the team that you played. Overall I think this was a great addition to the paintball world. There is always room for expansion but definitely worth buying.
